Handmade Products Marketplace
A marketplace where small makers list customised, handmade products with their own delivery schedules, built on .NET Core APIs and Angular, with category templates and product import from Shopify and Etsy.
The idea
Small-scale makers of customised, handmade goods needed a simple place to sell online, and customers needed one place to find them. Each product can be personalised and has its own delivery schedule, which general marketplaces handle poorly.
The challenge
- Make listing easy for small vendors who are not technical.
- Support very different product types without a new form for each one.
- Let vendors bring existing catalogues over from other platforms.
What we did
We designed the interface from the visual designs and built the marketplace on an Angular front end and ASP.NET Core APIs with Entity Framework Core, hosted on AWS. Admins manage dynamic attributes and category templates, so each category gets the right listing form. Vendors can import products from Shopify and Etsy.
What it does
Vendor onboarding
Vendors register and start selling customised products quickly.
Guided listings
Category-based templates and dynamic attributes keep listing simple.
Delivery preferences
Vendors set delivery schedules for each product.
Catalogue import
Products imported from Shopify and Etsy.
Social sign-in
Customers and vendors sign in with Google, Facebook or Apple.
How it is built
- Angular front end and ASP.NET Core REST APIs with JWT authentication.
- Entity Framework Core on MS SQL; hosted on AWS EC2 (Ubuntu).
- Documented API collection for front-end and partner use.
Results
- Small makers get a ready storefront without technical effort.
- New product categories are added through templates, not code changes.
